The "P" in P.T. Rapture
I never knew anything about Bible prophecy until after the Lord worked His mysterious ways. My understanding of prophecy developed while equally exposed to both PRE and POST tribulation viewpoints. This exposure was mainly in the form of radio broadcast ministries.
Actually, the majority of that exposure was tilted more towards the PRE- TRIB stance.
I feel my lack of knowledge about prophecy was an advantage when I began to study it; no bias. I did not arrive at my current position on prophecy as a result of being converted from a different position.
The reason I believe what I do, is because it makes the most sense to me based on scripture. When I say "scripture", I mean both Old & New Testaments. Any serious Christian should want to use the whole Bible to understand God's plan. I think if you don't take this approach, you are cheating yourself; and possibly those you witness to.
DO NOT OVERLOOK THE "WHOLE BIBLE" APPROACH
WHEN SHARING THE GOSPEL WITH UNBELIEVERS
The Old Testament prophecies fulfilled during Christ's first coming are hard to argue against. Even for a statistics wizard. When an unbeliever is exposed to the awesome foreshadowing of the Old Testament, it reinforces the truth of the New Testament. This is important also for God's chosen people, the Jews. By the way, true Christians should not spurn the Jews.
I guess the scripture that hits home the most for me are the words of Jesus, found in Matthew 24. Verses 15-21, 29-34
When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
Maybe I'm not reading enough into it, but this scripture is telling me:
1. The abomination of desolation triggers the great tribulation.
2. Immediately after the great tribulation, Jesus returns to Earth
to gather His elect. I believe this gathering is the "Rapture".
See 2 Thes 2:1
3. Jesus taught in parables to veil truth from some, but reveal truth
to others. While we may not know the day or the hour, we can
know the season. When we see these things (abomination of
desolation & the great tribulation), we know His return is near...
...even at the doors.
May I say to you right here that converting you, the reader, to a particular viewpoint on the rapture is not the purpose of this website. If your mind is changed, it should be a result of your own study of prophecy.
Below are links to websites with a definite position on the timing of the rapture. Each one of these links contains many more links. I have visited enough of them, coupled with my own Bible study, to reach the following conclusions:
The most important thing is that you are BORN AGAIN.
The rapture is POST TRIBULATION.
